PRUDENTIAL LIFE INSURANCE SUPPORTS KASPRO
CEO of Prudential Life Insurance Mr. Emmanuel Mokobi Aryee in executing their corporate social responsibility presented a dummy cheque of GHC 280,000.00 to the organisation in support of its Kayayei Assistance Project.
Dr. Agnes Kayitankore, UNFPA’s Deputy Representative expressed her appreciation for their interest in addressing the many challenges that mostly affect the vulnerable in the society.
YOUTH LEADERS (YoLe) FELLOWS MARK INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S MONTH
The Youth Leaders (YoLe) Fellows as part of activities to commemorate international women’s month organized an engagement with some key female leaders on the topic; ‘The Role of Women In Community Development and Nation Building; Impact and Assessment’.
The engagement had as panelists, H.E Claudia Turbay Quintero, Colombia’s Ambassador to Ghana and Dean of the Diplomatic corps, Ms. Ifeoma Esther Charles Monwuba, Country representative of UNOPS Ghana, Mrs. Audrey Abakah, Head, SME Agency Banking and Partnership of Absa Bank Ghana and Dr. Juliana Oye Ameh, C.E.O of Trust Hospital who shared their experiences as leaders with the youth leaders fellows.
Dr. Agnes Kayitankore, UNFPA Ghana’s Deputy representative in her address called on stakeholders to play key roles in enabling women to have equal opportunities in the development process.
UNFPA GHANA ORGANISES ENGAGEMENT WITH MEN AND BOYS ON GENDER EQUALITY
UNFPA Ghana in partnership with the British High Commission and Junior Shapers Africa, hosted a Men and Boys Hybrid Dialogue as part of activities to commemorate Women’s month.
The in-person event took place at the Orange Loft at UNFPA Ghana and was well attended by some young boys from the Accra Municipal Assembly cluster of schools of the Ghana Education Service.
UNFPA GHANA SUPPORTS MoH AT THE MAIDEN LAUNCH OF NATIONAL GUIDELINES FOR NURSES AND MIDWIVES
The Ministry of Health (MoH) launched its maiden national policy guidelines for nursing and midwifery Professional Mentorship Programmes (PMP) in Accra under the theme; ‘Improving the Nursing and Midwifery system through Mentorship’.
Delivering a speech on behalf of the UNFPA Country Representative, Dr. Ismail Ndifuna reminded the gathering that the world is currently in the decade of action which calls for acceleration towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He commended the Ministry of Health, stakeholders, and partners for putting in place the guidelines, which he said, will go a long way to accelerate progress towards the 2030 agenda.
LEVEL 500 UCC MEDICAL STUDENTS VISIT UNFPA GHANA
The University of Cape Coast School of Medical Science (UCCSMS) as part of its Community Medicine Rotation visited UNFPA Ghana to receive some education on the mandates, programmes, and activities of the organisation.
Madam Adjoa Yenyi, National Programme Analyst of the Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health of UNFPA Ghana engaged the Level 500 medical students in conversations on sexual and reproductive health and the rights of young people. Other unit heads also took turns to brief the students about the activities they are engaged in.
