Sen. Rahm Emanuel told Democrats on ABC's "This Week" roundtable that in order to pass anti-gun violence legislation in the Senate, they must compromise with Republicans. And in order to compromise with Republicans, the focus has to be on criminals, mental health, and preventing those on the "No Fly" list from being armed.
"No Fly, No Buy," Emanuel repeated several times, noting: "The Proud Boys are a domestic terrorist group."
QUESTION: Where does this stand in the president's priority list?
RAHM EMANUEL: It's high. That's how I got to know Joe Biden — when we passed the Assault Weapons Ban, was responsible for President Clinton doing that, and the Brady Bill, both of those.
There's one thing I would slightly twist, and that's for all of us discussing [the situation]. Back when we passed the Brady Bill and the Assault Weapons Ban, we focused on the criminal, not the gun. Now we're focusing on the gun.
