Four years ago, Christian doctor Dr David Mackereth was sacked from his job at the Department for Work and Pensions for refusing to use ‘transgender pronouns’. This week, he has taken his case to the Employment Appeal Tribunal.
David commented: “The previous ruling was that we should accept transgender ideology and there is no freedom for us to live according to our Christian faith. In court, we had a a good hearing and I was very ably represented by the Christian Legal Centre – I’m very grateful to them. We put forth the case that we shouldn’t be forced to speak in ways which go against conscience, that we should be free to believe what we choose to believe, and that we should be free to live according to our conscience and according to those beliefs.”
He continued: “I want to thank everyone who’s praying … Whatever happens, we will continue to stand for these truths which we believe.”
